Coffee Jelly + Espresso Shots to Go Please!

Dear Time,

This cannot be. I don't know why you're so fast. It seems like you are eluding me for the past weeks. Just to catch you, I am now an addict.
Espresso is now running in my veins.
Tons of load to do and juggle. Not enough sleep.
I hope I get to spend my weekend with my love and watch HP7 Part1.
Time, please give me just extra 6 hours of R&R, will you?
If you don't, I will continue to catch you.

Running after you,
Faith

On Doing My Laundry and a Hamperful of Clothes

These days have been pretty damn busy. I have to balance my work, Nihongo studies, love life, family life, and of course, my personal time. Things at work have been crazy lately: so many new technologies to learn, demanding targets, and to top it all, Nihongo classes. I don't mind studying Nihongo, not at all. In fact, I look forward to my Nihongo class: it somehow takes my stress off a bit. Also, I can write Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji pretty well. But for the past weeks, my work has been so demanding that I haven't got enough time to study, rest, sleep, and do my personal stuff. You know what I have discovered?

1. I haven't done my laundry in a month. A month.
2. BUT, I still have ironed clothes to wear from my cabinet. And I think I can last for another month without doing my laundry.
3. I also have a hamperful of clothes that I can wear, but are not yet ironed.

...which lead to me to an inevitable truth:

I have TOO many clothes!
Gosh, I don't know how I acquired them all! They're like viruses-- very fast to multiply.
Oh well, I think I might dispose some of them, give to my brother's girlfriend, or to my sisters. ^____^

On Singing Songs of Praises

Since I was a child, I always loved singing songs of praises. Even though I wasn't a good singer, I sang my heart out whenever I did. I remembered back then when my father, who was a devout Catholic (and still is), bought cassette tapes of religious songs and praises. When the music played, all of us, even though no one in our family had the gift of music, sang loudly and joyfully. We never got tired of singing those songs: my father always requested to play those tapes especially during Christmas, Lenten season, All Souls and Saints day. Sometimes, out of the blue, or in the morning, the familiar music would play and wake us all, and then the "singing" would begin. :)

When I sang alone in the mass today, I reminisced those moments with my family and realized how I missed them.
I sang, trying to grab those notes and the time without them that had flown unknowingly.
I sang, imagining those mornings, the voices that were nearly as battered as the cassette tapes were.
I sang, teary-eyed and wishing that they were with me in that mass, singing not with our voices, but with our heart as we glorified our God.

As a tribute to those now voiceless voices, I would post my favorite songs of praises:

~o~

Take and Receive

Take and receive, O Lord, my liberty.
Take all my will, my mind, and memory.
All things I hold, and all I own are thine.
Thine was the gift, to thee, I all resign.

Do thou direct and govern all and sway,
Do what thou wilt command, and I obey.
Only thy grace, thy love on me bestow,
These make me rich, all else will I forego.

~o~

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ
Sanctify me
Body of Christ save me
Water from the side of Christ
Wash me, Passion of Christ
Give me strength

Hear me Jesus
Hide me in thy wounds
That I may never leave thy side
From all the evil that surrounds me
Defend me and when the call of death arrives
Bid me come to thee
That I may praise thee
With thy saints forever

~o~

I Will Sing Forever

I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
I will celebrate the wonder of Your name
For the word that You speak is a song of forgiveness
And a song of gentle mercy and of peace

Let us wake at the morning and be filled with Your love
And sing songs of praise all our days
For Your love is as high as the heavens above us
And Your faithfulness as certain as the dawn

I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
I will celebrate the wonder of Your name
For the word that You speak is a song of forgiveness
And a song of gentle mercy and of peace

I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
For You are my refuge and my strength
You fill the world with Your life-giving spirit
That speaks Your word
Your word of mercy and of peace

And I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord
Yes I will sing forever of Your love, O Lord

Healing

Now that we have gotten through
One more fall
I can just admit I've got it all
Cause I do
Cause I've got you
We've crossed these battle lines to many times
It passes through the heart
But it never leaves a mark

Cause Your love just keeps on healing me
No matter how I bruise
If I just trust You
Your love just keeps on healing me
One more clue
One more chance that wasn't there before
In your arms
no pain can harm the way I'm feeling
Lord I know that Your love is healing

I've kicked around those lines in my head
But I've never listened to the words that You said
See where its lead
Well I know I have it now
Cause You showed me how
And all I had to do
Was just to keep my eyes on You

Cause Your love just keeps on healing me
No matter how I bruise
If I just trust You
Your love just keeps on healing me
One more clue
One more chance that wasn't there before
In your arms
no pain can harm the way I'm feeling
Lord I know that Your love is healing

Cause Your love just keeps on healing me
No matter how I bruise
If I just trust You
Your love just keeps on healing me
One more clue
One more chance that wasn't there before
In your arms
no pain can harm the way I'm feeling

Lord I know that Your love is healing

Panalangin sa Pagiging Bukas Palad

Panginoon, turuan mo akong maging bukas-palad

Panginoon, turuan mo akong maging bukas palad
Turuan mo akong maglingkod sa Iyo
At magbigay nang ayon sa nararapat
Na walang hinihintay mula sa Iyo.

~o~

Awit ng Paghahangad

Ika’y pagmamasdan sa dakong banal,
Nang makita ko ang ‘Yong pagkarangal.
Dadalangin akong nakataas aking kamay,
Magagalak na aawit ng papuring iaalay.

Gunita ko’y Ikaw
Habang nahihimlay
Pagkat ang tulong Mo sa tuwina’y taglay.
Sa lilim ng Iyong mga pakpak
(umaawit akong buong galak/umaawit, umaawit, umaawit akong buong galak.)

Aking kaluluwa’y kumakapit sa ‘Yo,
Kaligtasa’y t’yak kong hawak Mo ako.
Magdiriwang ang hari ang Diyos S’yang dahilan.
Ang sa Iyo ay nangakong galak yaong makakamtan.

~o~

I could still hear the echo of those voices...making me recall that I was once in a home where music was valued not for how good you could sing, but how you could make yourself worthy of the music.

Where Did My Weekend Go???

Where else??? Sleeping.
Ken and I just kept on sleeping...
...and sleeping
...and sleeping.
Before we knew it, it was Sunday afternoon already.
We had not done anything but lay down on the bed like sloths and slept.
But I wasn't regretful or anything. I loved sleeping with him because it was a deep one. Normally, I do sleep like a chicken: I easily wake up. Because of that, I sometimes get tired easily because I'm not able to have a proper sleep and rest.
So, I was thankful to have my (beauty and weekend) rest with Ken, it was bliss. :)

And yeah, time passes by so quickly when you're with your love one...

Sweet Recipe to Solving Problems :-)

This came from Prezi, an online tool for creating very cool presentations. :)
I might try to create a presentation on how to cook no-bake lasagna (thanks Mic for the recipe!) using this tool.
As a sample, enjoy this presentation! :)

Cooking Day With Micmic :)

At last! A cooking buddy! :)
I was really excited as the day began yesterday because my good friend Micmic and I had previously planned to cook in their house. :) He would teach me how to cook lasagna (the shortcut version and without needing an oven), and Caesar salad (the shortcut version also). So we agreed to meet at SM Hypermart Pasig first to buy the ingredients, then go to their place at Valle Verde 5. Being an early bird that I was, I arrived 15 minutes before our meeting time, and damn, I was very ecstatic to see all the veggies, fishes, and fruits Hypermart had to offer! My eyes were feasting on the array of colors! :) Also, I saw veggies I never knew existed, and to top it all, very weird-looking veggies, too! :D I even had to call my boyfriend just to tell him the colorful veggies and to shop there later that day. :)

The fresh salad garden section of Hypermart Pasig. :) I would like to applaud them for such a collection, theirs had the most variety (so far) from all the Hypermarts I had seen. :)

It's not what you think it is! hahaha. :D This is a butternut squash. It's my first time to see this odd-shaped veggie, I didn't even know it existed until then. Must try one... *evil grin* ^___^

More butternut squashes! :) I also saw a sorta-giant-garlic veggie. I think it's squash too but I didn't see the name. :D

Sweet beets! :)

Big, fat radishes. :D

Mini cucumber. :) My good friend Edgie and I had an inside joke about the pronunciation of cucumber: it's pronunciation KA-KAM-BER. :D I dunno, but it's hilarious for both of us. :D

Big salad tomatoes and tomatolets! :D

This is nice, really nice. :) Green and golden Zucchini. :D

Green Capsicum, green and red Jalapeños, iceberg lettuce! :) It was rare seeing Jalapeños here.

Japanese cucumber and red cabbage. :)

Fennel and Swiss Chard. I haven't tried both of them. :p

One of my faves, Butterhead lettuce. :)

And finally, red coral lettuce and green ice lettuce. :) Micmic called them "curly lettuce". :D
After secretly taking pictures of veggies (yes, I instantly became a veggie stalker that time), Micmic arrived and we then started shopping for the ingredients. Some weird and unique things we saw were the shrimp-eating-fishie and humongous mushroom:

It's nice that Hypermart dry market exists: I really don't like wet markets. :p I've always hated the feeling of walking on dirty ground and those mud scattering all over my white socks and legs. Anyway, after shopping for ingredients, we went back to their home and started the fight! :D

The Contenders:

Ingredients

and the cooks: Micmic and I :D

Micmic was really up to fight, haha! :D Anyway we successfully created our masterpieces:

Yummmmmm!!!! :D

Caesar salad without the dressing and Parmesan cheese. :)

Four layers of Bechamel and beef! :)

The "lataks" or excess ingredients in English. :D We also tried to arrange them. Still nice. :)
Whew! What a day! :) We had a blast. I hope there will be more cooking sessions to come. :) For the procedure on cooking shortcut versions of lasagna and Caesar salad, I'll just post them in a separate entry. :)
Tabemashou! :)

Migraine!!!

Uh-oh. :(
And like this picture, I have the urge to squeeze my head using the C-Clamp.
This is bad.
Very bad, indeed.
I need to sleep this one out.
Luckily, I only have to work for 5.26 hours today to complete my work hours for this cut-off (I already rendered 74.74 hours out of 80 hours).
And another fortunate event, this weekend is a long one (Fri to Sun) because of Eid'l Fitr or end of Ramadan to be celebrated tomorrow, 10th of September.
Thank goodness for that.
Anyway, I will take a nap now to ease some of the pain.
Squeeze...
Squeeze...
Squeeze...

She is a very loyal and jolly dog.

When You Run Out of Everything Else...

I'm taking a breather for 10 minutes.
I've been creating a set of coding guidelines for my new project, and it is loooooooong.
Hopefully, other projects will be able to use it as well.
My to-do list is piling up. Ugh.

Well, as the post it says, "When you run out of everything else, have faith."

So have me... ;-)

On the Road to Becoming Healthy and Fit: Yoga

I just did Hot Flow Yoga at Fitness First, and I realized 3 things:

1. Flexibility is not proportional to body fat nor built, it really isn't! Most of the people in my yoga class have larger built than mine, some of them "healthier", and damn, they CAN flex their bodies really well. My gulay! I ended up like a "lantang gulay" by the end of the class, all sweaty and lousy.

2. I am NOT flexible. Period. But having done all the impossible stretches, lunges, three-legged dog, warrior position, etc. etc., I felt rejuvenated. My body kept sweating; my back, even though it hurt, was stretched far beyond its capabilities (which was good for my scoliosis); I felt that my arms and legs strengthened a little in doing those watchamacallit positions. I relaxed after the routine. My whole body did. And it was a blast. ;-)

3. I won't be able to feel my body tomorrow.

Hello, Android ^___^

Welcome to the world of Android. :)
I feel that I'll be a workaholic for this project.
Very, very interesting.
So much to learn. I need to self-study for the following:
- Java ( I haven'y had any experience on this programming language, but it has some similarities with C#)
- Android OS, its stacks and framework
- Apache
- OOA&D for good programming practices
Hopefully I can fit in all of these in my schedule.

And for you, Android, I will definitely conquer your world. ;-)

On Dancing ;-)

I've never had any talent in dancing or singing or anything with regards to music. But it doesn't mean I don't enjoy music, I really do, in fact, I am a music lover.

So when I watched two of the routines in So You Think You Can Dance, which were No Air danced by Katee and Joshua and Bleeding Love danced by Mark and Chelsie, I was astounded by the talents they got. From then on, I started downloading SYTYCD from season 1 (which tested my patience since net in the condo and at home were very slow and the files were very large), and voila! I was an addict! ;-D

It's really an amazing experience watching the contestants' movements, different styles and techniques, and especially their improvements and challenges they overcomed as the competition progressed. It literally moved me. At many points, I got teary-eyed because of the passion these dancers were pouring on their routines, their love from what they were doing was very evident, and their personal and professional experiences are manifested in every act they made in the stage. They moved me, feeling the connection between the artist and a viewer. Even though I wasn't in that same stage and crowd, I felt their presence within me, and I was very honored to witness that kind of beautiful creation. ;-)

To all dancers out there, not only to SYTYCD dancers, I bow my head to all of you.

Downloading SYTYCD continues... ;-)

On Dreams

Since I'm having a hard time sleeping because of my left hip, yes, I'm blogging.

I found this post-it note from one of my fave links, wherein this site provides a list of post-it notes (with cool sketches) about "things we forget", which are left in public places for everyone to see and ponder.

"Follow your dreams" has been a popular line from a quotation or a song, and from those input, I always thought that it was good to follow your dreams. But on seeing thing image, I think it makes better sense to "chase" your dreams rather than just "follow" them. Both are positive outtakes on pursuing his or her dream. However, "chase" is a much more proactive word than "follow" which is a bit passive. ;-)

Anyway...as much as I want to continue blogging, my hip really hurts. :-( I really need to rest since I'll be going to the dentist in six hours...sleep now, Faith. ;-)

I Write Like...

I write like
Gertrude Stein

I Write Like by Mémoires, Mac journal software. Analyze your writing!

So I write like her. I browsed through her works, I don't remember reading any of them.
Hmm... curious indeed. :-)
I might read them someday. ;-)

On Losing Focus :-(

I'm losing my focus again. I think it's the weather. I'm always sleepy. Like a sloth, I don't wanna move because it's too hot. -__-

But I need to start studying Java. Gotta prepare for my upcoming work, especially if I'll be assigned to a one-man-team project.

Focus.
Focus.
Focus.
(Say this to myself a hundred times)

My Ken also needs a push, he should really get the certification before the year ends.

GOTTA FOCUS!

On Taking a New Path ;-)

Can't sleep yet. Anxious? Kinda. Pressured? Maybe. Nervous? A li'l. Excited? Definitely. ;-)

I'm about to go through a new phase in my career within a week, which makes me sleep-deprived in the past few days. My friend and former college block mate, Nice, has given me a hunch that I'll be assigned to a new project which is related to Android mobile phones! ;-) I'm feeling kinda anxious and maybe pressured since most of the new projects are one-man teams, which will then left me all the responsibilities of my project-to-be. A li'l nervous because of the new faces. Nevertheless, I'm totally excited because of the new technical stuff I'll learn, new people to work with, and new experiences to gain.

I hope everything will be fine.
I hope I can tell someday, "All was well." :-)
Aja! :-)

My New Shoelaces :-)

Got a new pair of checkered shoelaces for my chucks..love them! :)

Reminds me of simple things in life that can make me really happy and paint a smile in my face. ;-)

Two Roots Down, One More to Kill

I never thought I would feel that much pain because of my tooth. Good thing my dentist was sympathetic and sensitive enough to postpone killing the last root. Instead, she applied some medicine that would slowly kill the root, and then when it's not that sensitive, she could continue killing the root and clean the root canal. Ugh.

Someday, when I have my own kiddies, I'll terrorize them so they will take care their teeth (even the baby teeth), and going to the dentist every six months is a must!
Hope it'll end well for my last root this coming Wednesday.

Fingers crossed. XXX

While You're Far Away and Still Sleeping..

I am here,
waiting,
imagining
your yawn,
your lazy eyes,
your morning smile
that spreads star dusts
to this moonless, cloudy sky.
Is it that long already?
My body has been tired to count
those nights when it does not touch yours,
tired of anticipating when it trembles
on the slightest warmth of your breath,
even my hand's not used to be so open all the time,
it searches for a clasp, a squeeze.

Wake up, my love
embrace me through your words,
lull me away from this longing,
away from this moonless,
starless night.
